The equipment used to refine vegetable oil is referred to as vegetable oil refining equipment. Vegetable crude oil is the product of oil pressing or extraction process, and crude oil contains substances harmful to consumers. Some of these substances exist naturally, and some are produced during production or storage. For the common people, as healthy edible oil, these harmful substances must be strictly removed. Therefore, healthy and edible vegetable oil must be refined.

   Due to their different origins, refining has to be carried out in several steps under different conditions. Depending on the crude oil (soybean oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, etc.), the refining process is divided into several steps: degumming, neutralization, decolorization, winterization, deodorization, etc., according to the variety of crude oil, some or all of them can be used craft. The different processes also determine the different grades of refined edible oils.

Edible oil refining equipment is mainly divided into three categories according to different working principles

1. Batch refining equipment; the refining process is carried out in batches, and the production capacity is limited; it needs to wait; it is suitable for small oil factories.

2. Semi-continuous refining equipment; some processes in the refining process, such as degumming section, deacidification section, and decolorization section, are carried out in batches and need to wait; while the deodorization section is carried out continuously without waiting, suitable for medium-sized oil factories.

3. Continuous refining equipment; the refining process is fully continuous, with a high degree of automation, high productivity, and low labor costs, suitable for medium and large oil plants; the following figure shows batch refining equipment, semi-continuous refining equipment and continuous refining equipment.
