Recently, the 4th Session of the 9th Council of the Chinese Cereals and Oils Association (CCOA) Oil & Fats Branch was held in Qingdao, bringing together over 100 industry experts, scholars, and corporate representatives to discuss development trends and technology advancements . Mr. Yan Zipeng, Deputy Director of the Oil & Fats Branch and Chairman of Huatai Group, attended the meeting and read key proposals for future annual conferences .
At the meeting, Professor Wang Ruiyuan presented a detailed report on China's grain and oil production and trade in 2025 – highlighting that total oilseed production reached 77.639 million tons (up 2.37%), while edible oil imports decreased by 366,000 tons, indicating improved national self-sufficiency . The report also noted that per capita cooking oil consumption decreased to 28.5 kg, reflecting positive public awareness of oil conservation .

Key resolutions of the meeting included designating hosts for the 35th Annual Oil & Fats Conference (Ningxia Junxingfang Food Technology), the 4th Session of the 9th Council in 2027 (Guangdong Shanbainian Teyi Food), and the 36th Annual Conference (Shandong Jinsheng, Xingquan, and Yuhuang Grain and Oil) – with proposals read by Vice Chairman Yan Zipeng .

In his closing remarks, CCOA Oil & Fats Branch Chairman Professor He Dongping emphasized the association's commitment to promoting scientific and technological progress in the grain and oil industry, supporting innovations in basic research, equipment technology, and high-value utilization of by-products .
