Whole Edible Oil Extraction Process The extraction method is a kind of oil extraction process. It uses the mutual solubility of oil and organic solvents to crush the oil into embryo flakes or expand it. Then, the organic solvents such as n-hexane and the oil embryo flakes are contacted in a device called an extractor to extract and dissolve the oil in the oil. Then, the solvent in the oil is removed by heating and steam stripping. The crude oil obtained in this way is further refined to become the final edible oil.

Its theoretical basis is the extraction principle. It originated in France in 1843 and is a safe, hygienic, scientific and advanced oil production process. At present, more than 90% of the total output of oil esters produced by industrially developed countries is produced by the extraction method. The advantages of the extraction method for oil production are that the meal cake contains less residual oil, high oil yield, low processing cost, high economic benefits, and high quality of the meal, which has good feeding effect in the feed industry.

The special solvent oil specially arranged by the state for oil processing can ensure its complete separation and removal from the oil with its own composition characteristics. In addition, the state has stipulated strict quality standards for vegetable oil production to ensure the safety and hygiene of edible oil. As long as the oil products purchased by consumers are marked as meeting national quality standards, they can be eaten with confidence.

Introduction to the extraction process

1. Storage box: Stores a certain amount of materials and also serves as a material seal. The capacity cannot be too small and the storage height is not less than 2 meters.
2. Sealed auger: It is required to play an effective sealing role when the material enters the extractor to prevent the solvent gas in the extractor from overflowing from the feed port.
3. Horizontal rotary extractor:

(1) Loading height is 900-1100 cm

(2) Solvent temperature is 50-55°C

(3) Inlet temperature is 50-55°C, extractor temperature is 50°C

(4) Spraying method: It is better to use a multi-point large spray spray drip drying method. When spraying fresh solvent, it must not overflow into the draining section

(5) Extractor operation cycle is 85-110 minutes

(6) Solvent ratio and mixed oil concentration 1: 0.8-1.1

Mixed oil concentration:


Inlet oil content is 15-18%, mixed oil concentration is 18-27%

(7) Meal residual oil (dry basis): less than 1%

4. Desolventizer: Wet meal desolventizing and drying:


(1) The first and second layers of the steamer are preheating layers. Because the meal contains more solvent, the temperature should not be raised too fast. It is better to control it at 60-70°C. (2) The temperature of the second layer is controlled at about 75°C.

(3) The second layer is a breathable layer. The steam from the third layer directly penetrates the material layer to heat and desolventize.

(4) Direct steam is sprayed into the third layer to evaporate and desolventize. While the solvent evaporates, the activity of harmful enzymes is destroyed. The amount of direct steam sprayed is 5-6 kg/ton of material. The direct steam pressure is 0.05-0.08Mpa.

(5) The steaming time is 40 minutes.

(6) The temperature of the stored meal is below 40°C.

(7) Quality requirements of finished meal: no solvent smell, qualified detonation test, moisture content below 12%, light meal color, not burnt or mushy.

V. Evaporation and stripping of mixed oil:


1. The filter screen uses a stainless steel dense mesh to automatically filter and discharge slag.

2. The height of the mixed oil tank is 3.5 meters to further precipitate the cake residue. 3. Pre-evaporator:

(1) The mixed oil inlet temperature is 50-55°C, the mixed oil outlet temperature is controlled at 80-85°C, and the concentration is 50-60%.

(2) Steam is the heat source, the temperature is about 82°C, and the steam from the steam jet pump is the auxiliary heat flow.

4. Second evaporator


(1) The mixed oil outlet temperature is 95-100°C, and the concentration is above 90-95%. The indirect steam pressure is 0.4-0.5Mpa.

5. Stripping tower


(1) The mixed oil outlet temperature is 110-115°C

(2) The total volatile matter in the extracted crude oil does not exceed 0.30%

(3) The indirect steam pressure is above 0.3Mpa, and the superheated steam pressure is 49-58.8Kpa

6. Vacuum negative pressure technology is used in the evaporation and stripping processes of the mixed oil. 

Condensation and recovery of solvents


1. According to the size of the condensation cooling load, the effective area of ​​the condenser cooler is determined, and it should generally be equipped with no less than m2/ton-meter.

2. The outlet temperature of the condensate of each condenser shall not be higher than 40°C, and the outlet temperature of the equilibrium free gas shall not be higher than 25°C (slightly higher in summer).

3. The effective water volume of the water distributor is generally equipped with 0.04 m3/ton of material.

4. The temperature of the steam tank shall not be lower than 92°C and shall not be higher than 98°C.
