The Importance of Palm Oil Refining

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) contains impurities such as free fatty acids, phospholipids, pigments, and odorous compounds that must be removed to produce food-grade oil suitable for cooking and food manufacturing. Huatai’s advanced refining systems transform CPO into refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) palm oil with excellent clarity, stability, and shelf life .

Core Refining Process

  • Degumming & Deacidification
This initial stage removes phospholipids (gums) and neutralizes free fatty acids (FFA). Huatai’s systems maximize separation efficiency while minimizing neutral oil loss, ensuring higher overall yield .
  •  Bleaching (Decolorization)
Under controlled vacuum and temperature, activated clay is mixed with the oil to adsorb pigments, residual soaps, and oxidation products. Huatai’s technology optimizes clay contact and filtration, reducing operating costs through efficient clay utilization .
  •  Deodorization

  • Fractionation (Optional)

Customizable fractionation produces different melting-point fractions (18℃, 24℃, 33℃) to meet diverse market demands .
